Janai Brugger-Orman, Soprano
Biography
Soprano Janai Brugger-Orman participates in the Los Angeles Opera Young Artist Program under the baton of Plácido Domingo and James Conlon. A native of Chicago, Janai received her master's degree from the University of Michigan, having studied with renowned soprano Shirley Verrett. In 2007 Janai participated in the Marilyn Horne Master Class Competition at Carnegie Hall. In 2009 she performed the role of Adina in Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love with the Lyric Opera of Chicago's program "Opera in the Neighborhoods." In the Los Angeles Opera, Janai made her debut as Barbarina in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro.
