Yael Kareth, Piano
Biography
Born in Jerusalem in 1986, Yael Kareth studied at the Tel Aviv Music Academy under Tomer Lev and Hava Armon. She graduated from the Thelma Yellin Music High School and the Tel Aviv School for Arts and continued her studies in London under Murray Perahia. She did her military service as an ‘outstanding musician’. She is a graduate of the Young Musicians programme of the Jerusalem Music Centre, supported by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. Her performances include participation in the Itzhak Perlman Project in Israel and the US, the Aspen and Ravinia Festivals, and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim. In 2006 she won first prize for chamber music at the Tel Aviv Music Academy. In 2007 she performed as soloist with the IPO under Zubin Mehta, and with the Israel Camerata Orchestra under Avner Biran. Currently Yael is based in Berlin where she studies under Dmitri Bashkirov.
