Aiko Noda, Violin
Biography
Violinist Aiko Noda was born in Fukuoka, Japan. At the age of nine, she moved to Switzerland, and entered the class of the Hungarian violinist and pedagogue Tibor Varga at the Ecole Superieure de Musique de Sion. She graduated from the School in 2000. In 2002, she met Shmuel Ashkenasi (leader of the renowned Vermeer String Quartet), and became his student at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck, Germany. In 2003, she moved to the United States and continued her studies with Prof. Ashkenasi at Northern Illinois University in De Kalb where she graduated in 2006.
From a young age Aiko Noda has received much acclaim for her musicianship, and has appeared as soloist in many countries including Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Armenia, Romania, United States and Japan. Recent engagements include a performance of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra at the Kyushu Summer Music Festival in Fukuoka.
While a student, she also played in major European and American orchestras such as the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich, Orchester der Oper Zürich, Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala in Milan. In 2005, she was professor at Radford University and the Renaissance Music Academy in Blacksburg, VA, and was also a member of the Avanti Ensemble, with whom she regularly performed in chamber music and as soloist. She currently lives in the Chicago area, and performs regularly with the Minnesota Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Aiko Noda is a recipient of many prizes, including the "Premier Winner of Concerto Competition'' at Northern Illinois University, "Association of Artists" in Tokyo, and the "ABC Young Concert Artists" in Osaka.
