Alessio Benvenuti
Biography
Born in Torrita di Siena, Italy, in 1976, Alessio Benvenuti has already made his mark
in italian music world.
Alessio Benvenuti made his first appearance as soloist with the Orchestra of the
National Theatre of Bucarest in spring 1997 and performed in both England and Unites
States in same year. In 1997/98, he performed with the European Youth Orchestra
"Arturo Toscanini" of Parma and was soloist with the Arturo Toscanini Chamber
Orchestra.
Benvenuti is the First Violin of the "Janacek String Quartet", which performed in the
movie soundtrack "First the Music then Words", directed by Fulvio Wetzl, a hightlight
at the New York Film Festival. His natural talent and his studies (Cherubini
Conservatory in Florence, Academy Chigiana in Siena, Mozarteum in Salzburg,
Juillard School in New York, Royal College Of Music London) have allowed him to
rise to the top in the international music world.

Benvenuti began his studies at age of four. Graduated at the Cherubini Conservatory
of Music in Florence, in both violin and piano. His teachers were: Henry Szering,
Franco Gulli, Riccardo Brengola, Boris Belkin, Uto Ughi, Ruggiero Ricci, Igor
Oistrach, Doroty DeLay, Yuri Zhislin.
PGDip at the Royal College of Music in London, 2004-2006.
Awarded with the “Prix of Rome” in the year 2003.
He has performed with the Orchestra of National Theatre of Bucarest, Toscanini Youth
Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Saarbruken, Orquesta Filarmonica de
Bogotà, Orquesta Filarmonica de Medellin (Soloist and Conductor), Orchestra
Sinfonica di Roma (First violin leader and Soloist), Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala and
Filarmonica della Scala in Milan, Chamber Orchestra of Caserta (First Violins Leader),
Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional Costa Rica (Soloist), Orchestra Sinfonica Ucraina.
Soloist with the following conductors: Julian Kovatchev, Peter Schnaider, Riccardo
Muti, Claudio Abbado, Corrado Rovaris, Carlo Rizzi, Yuri Temirkanov, Michel Plasson,
Francisco Rettig, Otmar Maga, Francesco La Vecchia, Chosei Komatsu, Diego Masson.
Since 2011 is Head of the Classical Department and violin teacher at “Al Kamandjati”
music school in Ramallah, Palestine.
