Allant Trio, Trio
Biography
The Allant Triois quickly establishing itself as one of the most exciting young ensembles today. Winners of the prestigious Beverly Hills Auditions in Los Angeles in 2013, they have been invited to participate in several prestigious international competitions including the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, the 2nd International Chamber Music Competition in Hamburg, and the 6th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition in Norway, where they were named semifinalists. Pianist Beth Nam, violinist Anna Park and cellist Alina Lim formed the trio in 2010 at the Juilliard School, each with extensive and distinguished careers in chamber music and music pedagogy. Most recently, the Allant Trio released their first album titled ‘Ignition’ under Sony Classical and they were also broadcast on ABC Classic FM in Australia. They have performed the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the Bergen Symphony Orchestra, the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, and in 2014, they were invited by the Korea International Music Festival to perform the Triple Concerto at the Seoul Arts Center with the Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra which was broadcast by Korea’s MBC network.
Through the US Embassy in Seoul, they performed at the Embassy Youth Forum and the US ambassador’s residence in South Korea. In February 2014, the trio gave a highly acclaimed debut recital at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in New York City. The Allant Trio has participated in the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the Yehudi Menuhin Chamber Music Festival in San Francisco, as well as the chamber music residencies at The Banff Centre in Canada and Hill and Hollow Music in New York. The trio performs often throughout the New York City metro area and has given a recital at the South Orange Performing Arts Center in New Jersey.
As passionate educators, they have been sharing their experience with the next generation. They were awarded the Jonathan Madrigano Entrepreneurship Grant from the Juilliard School in 2013 for developing their educational project, Shall We Play. Which promotes chamber music to beginning students. In October 2015, the Allant Trio were Artists-in-Residence at the LBC Middle School in Aiken, SC through Joye in Aiken. In addition to leading private studios, they have been guest teaching artists at various schools. They have enriched students in schools such as West High School in Torrance, CA and at The Juilliard School by sharing their experiences and giving captivating performances.
The trio is also committed in reaching out to communities that have limited access to classical concerts. They have given performances at various community facilities in New York City including at the soup kitchen of Calvary-St. George's Episcopal Church.
The trio received coaching and direction from professors such as Toby Appel, Rohan DeSilva, Jonathan Feldman, Clive Greensmith, Nicholas Mann and Vivian Weilerstein.
