Born in Telavi, native of Georgia, Ana’s first musical impressions were of the Georgian folk song "Suliko," which inspired and influenced her early passion for music.
Ms. Gligvashvili, who has performed a wide range of classical repertoire, also enjoys working on less familiar and neglected piano works. With her interest for non-standard piano music, Ana has recently performed piano sonatas by Leos Janacek and Charles Griffes. She hopes to continue to expand her repertoire with works that are not often heard.
Ana Gligvashvili holds Master’s degree in piano performance from Mannes College, The New School of Music and Bachelor’s degree from Tbilisi State Conservatory, Georgia. She studied with Victor Rosenbaum, Jerome Rose and Revaz Tavadze among others.
