Biography
Andrea Swan is a well-known chamber musician, collaborative pianist, orchestral pianist, soloist and teacher in the Chicago area. She is the principal keyboard player with the Grant Park Music Festival and plays regularly in the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra. She acts as an accompanist for instrumentalists in their final auditions for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera Orchestra and serves as the official accompanist for many local and national competitions, including the Stulberg International String Competition. Ms. Swan is a founding member of the Evanston Chamber Ensemble, a piano trio celebrating its 36th season. She appears frequently on the Chicago Symphony chamber music series at Symphony Center in Chicago, on live WFMT radio broadcasts and performs annually at Winterfest, a chamber series at Northwestern University. Her recital collaborations have included performances with Lynn Harrell, Gil Shaham, Jennifer Koh and Ilya Kaler, among others. Throughout her career, she has premiered many 20th century solo and chamber music compositions with the Contemporary Chamber Players of the University of Chicago and the Fulcrum New Music Project of Chicago.
