Anna Balakerskaia, Piano
Biography
Anna Balakerskaia received her Master of Music and
Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory and
was later appointed Faculty Member of the Moscow and the St. Petersburg State
Conservatories. Ms. Balakerskaia has collaborated with such noted artists as
Leonid Kogan, Kirill Kondrashin, Victor Tretyakov, Daniel Shafran, Vladimir
Landsman, and Michael Gantvarg among others.
Her concert tours have taken
her to some of the great halls of the world such as Carnegie Hall, Salle Gaveau
of Paris, The Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Teatro Colon in
Buenos-Aires, Palais des Arts in Montreal, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in
Brussels, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Corcoran Gallery,
National Gallery of Arts, and Library of Congress. She has also performed and recorded
as a founding member of "Ensemble da Camera" of Washington.
Ms. Balakerskaia has been
awarded many prizes, among them the "Best Accompaniment Diploma" which
she was awarded three times at the International Tchaikowsky Competition in
Moscow. She is on the faculty of George
Mason University, and also at the Levine School of Music in Washington, DC. She
also teaches at International Summer Music Festivals in Holland, Germany, and
Russia.
