Biography

Described as a worthy talented musician by El Diario, Armando has performed in chamber Ensembles,Orchestras,and as soloist throug out the tri-state area and abroad. He has been principal for the Operafestival di Roma Orchestra in Italy where the orchestra recorded for RAI television Mozart piano concerti no.23 and Mozart Kegelstatt's Trio K.498. Armando Began his musical journey on the recorder and then took up the clarinet as a means of expression. A graduate of the Highly competetive and selective Laguardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts ,Armando auditoned for a spot that year out of 600 applicants and made the audition at  the Mannes College of Music PC div his teacher was Bonnie Isbey Sholl in NYC. He has played with Ensemble Du Monde, Ensemble Artist's Orchestra , New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble, CLOC Opera Orchestra,New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music, Laguardia Symphony, Interschool Orchestra of NY, Orange County Community Band Ramsey Wind Symphony .He was  E-Flat Clarinetist with the Ridgewood Concert Band  now known as the New Jersey Wind Symphony from 2006-2011  where he can be heard playing E -Flat clarinet on the Highlights from the 26th Season CD .He has played for the,New York Symphonic Art's Ensemble in performances as a sub and in solo readings of the Mozart Clarinet Concerto and the Rossini Introduction Theme and variations. Competetions and Festivals he has been are  the Tanglewood Festival, Hampden Sydney Festival, Bowdoin, Lincoln Center's Young Artist's Competition which he and his quintet were award recipents two years in a row performing at Alice Tully Hall and has performed Brahm's Trio op.114 at Merkin  concert Hall in NYC . Masterclasses have been with Ronald Roseman, Jerome Roth former oboe of the NY Philharmonic Orchestra , Richard Stolzman, Felix Galimir, Samuel Baron, Robert Routch, Alan Kay, Franco Ferranti, Ethan Sloane and David Gould . He is active in NY/ NJ as a clarinet sub which has given him opportunities to work with conductors Marlon Daniel of Ensemble Du Monde, Anthony Maglinoe, Timothy Hutto NYSAE, Sybille Werner, Jonathan Strasser Manhattan School of Music Philharmonic ,Orquesta Sinfonica de Venezula, David Briskin National Ballet of Canada, Stefano Vignati Operafestival di Roma, David Randolph Santa Cecila Orchestra NYC, masterworks chorus, Dino Anagnost Little Orchestra Society John morris Russell of the Cincanatti Pops Orchestra and Buffallo Philharmonic Orchestra  and He has  Perfomed in the  Brahms Requiem and Mozart Requiems under the direction of Joseph Jones .In addition he has worked with contemporary composers  ,and at  composers  compositions masters recitals  at NYU. He has  played with the Attaca Quartet  in NYC .He has been invited to several auditions  after his auditions In 2013 he auditoned and won a spot as member of the Imani Chamber Music Festival of Music held at the Julliard School of  Music in NYC .He studied with David Weber from the Juilliard School in NYC, his major influences are David Weber , Ralph Mclane , Daniel Bonade, Harold Wright and Louis Cahuzac ,Bonnie isbey Shool ,Irene Isbey , Matthew favaro , Mrs Johnson ,Alida Vazquez , and upand foremost his parents .Armando Enjoys the art of recording in spaces that are accoustically superb and finding  and locating these gems.
