Biography
Twenty-one year old French violinist Arnaud Sussmann was recently accepted into the prestigious Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Two program. He has performed as soloist with the Cannes Orchestra, the Monaco Chamber Orchestra, the Nice Orchestra, the Orchestre des Pays de la Loire, and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra. He has presented recitals in France, Italy, Russia, Central America, and the United States.
Highlights of Mr. Sussmann's 2005-06 season include a performance of the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante at the Tilles Center, the Mendelssohn Octet with Itzhak Perlman at the Kennedy Center, a chamber music concert with Joseph Kalichstein at Carnegie's Zankel Hall, and an appearance at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington with David Finckel and Wu Han. Other upcoming engagements include appearances at the Virginia Arts Festival with pianist Andre-Michel Schub, and at the Strings in the Mountains Festival in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This summer, he returns to The Steans Institute at Ravinia. He has attended summer programs at Kneisel Hall, the Perlman Music Program, and the Tanglewood Music Center.
Mr. Sussmann has won first prizes at the International Andrea Postacchini Competition in Fermo, Italy and at the Vatelot/Rampal International competition in Paris, France. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from The Juilliard School and is currently pursuing his studies with Itzhak Perlman as a Masters student.
