Bénédicte Royer, Viola
Biography
Bénédicte Royer was born in Paris and studied at the Paris Conservatory, the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, and at the Mozarteum University with Thomas Riebl. She is member of the Austrian Ensemble of Contemporary Music and has made recordings of Geirr Tveitt, Klaus Egge, and Fartein Valen’s chamber music for Simax Classics. Bénédicte has played in such leading orchestras as the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Camerata Salzburg, and the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. She won top prizes in the Bodensee International Music Competition in Germany and the Mozarteum University Tertis Competition. She has performed as soloist and chamber music player in Paris, Oslo, New York, and several cities in Germany and has appeared in many festivals in France, Norway, Sweden, and Spain. Bénédicte was invited to the chamber music academy in Kronberg, Germany, where she performed with Andras Schiff and Christian Teztlaff.
