Bowlin is a founding member of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), current member of the Oberlin Trio, and a former member of the Da Capo Chamber Players, with whom he won a 2010 NPR Top 5 American Classical Albums award. Currently he teaches in the violin faculty of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and formerly taught at the Juilliard School as assistant to Ronald Copes. Recordings include music by over a dozen composers for the Bridge and Naxos labels, among others, and his awards include first prize at the 2003 Washington International Competition.
