Brendan Conway, Violin
Biography
Brendan Conway performs extensively in Washington D.C., New York, Chicago, and abroad. In 2000, Mr. Conway presented a solo program at the “Young Virtuosos 2000” gala in Moscow, then returned to Russia for a series of recitals at the Rachmaninoff International Festival. As a member of the Perlman Music Program, he has played numerous times with Itzhak Perlman in the Mostly Mozart Festival at Avery Fisher Hall and for the “Live from Lincoln Center” broadcast by PBS. He has given solo performances at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Embassy of Canada, Lincoln Theater, various local venues with regional orchestras, and the New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall.
In addition to his solo work, Mr. Conway is an avid chamber musician. His piano trio won the silver medal at the 2002 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and was twice featured as Young Artists at the Menuhin Chamber Music Festival in San Francisco. He recently participated in the Internationale Sommerakademie für Kammermusik in Frenswegen with esteemed professors such as former violist of the Vermeer Quartet Richard Young, cellist Stefan Metz and Eberhard Feltz, professor of chamber music in Berlin and mentor of world-renowned quartets such as Quatuor Eben.
Mr. Conway completed a Master’s degree in 2011 in Cologne, Germany under Viktor Tretiakov. Before moving to Germany, he studied with Vladimir Landsman at the Université de Montréal and Ricardo Cyncynates, Associate Concertmaster of the National Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked extensively with Stefan Milenkovich, Patti Kopek, Pinchas Zukerman, and Ithzak Perlman.
