Carlin Ma, Piano
Biography
Carlin Ma has dedicated her life to music and the arts, including solo piano, chamber music, photography, and interdisciplinary projects. She is a recent Master of Music graduate with Yoshi Nagai at the San Francisco Conservatory and previously studied at Indiana University with Menahem Pressler, Arnaldo Cohen, Evelyne Brancart, and Emile Naoumoff. Carlin enjoys performing for a wide range of audiences, from local to international; she has been invited to play as a soloist and collaborator at places including the Kennedy Center, in Germany for the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, at Tanglewood Music Festival, and St. Petersburg, Russia. She found teaching also to be her passion as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University. On the side, she actively pursues a photography career, having worked for Aspen Music Festival, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Indiana University, in addition to pursuing interdisciplinary projects with various artists. Perpetual learning is Carlin’s committed passion.
