Biography
Described by reviewers as a 'dazzling artist 'with a distinctive masculine violin sound' the young German violinist Christoph Seybold has performed both as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe , North and South America, Israel and Japan. His performances have recently taken him to major concert venues such as the
Konzerthaus in Berlin, Leiszhalle Hamburg, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Meistersingerhalle in Nürnberg, Herkulessaal Munich, Glocke Bremen and the Kurhaus Wiesbaden. He performed with orchestras such as the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, the Philharmonie der Nationen , Württemberg Chamber orchestra, the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Lisbon Chamber orchestra, Hannover Chamber Orchestra, Polish Chamber Orchestra and the Heilbronn Symphony Orchestra. Further concerts took him to the stages of the Celibidache Festival, the Gran Canaria Music Festival, the Tegernseer Music festival and the Chautauqua Music Festival/ NY to name a few .
Starting to get violin lessons at age 4, he continued at 11 in Pre-College Program at the Freiburger Musikhochschule. Later he majored in violin performance at the Music Universities in Cologne and Hannover, where his teachers included Prof. Zakhar Bron and Prof. Jens Ellermann, who also where the mentors of violinists such as Gil Shaham, Midori,
Maxim Vengerov or Vadim Repin. He received additional musical input from musicians such as Pinchas Zuckerman, Rainer Kussmaul, Shlomo Mintz and Ida
Haendl .
Christoph Seybold has recorded for several German Broadcasting Companies including the ZDF, WDR, NDR Deutschland Radio Kultur.
A CD recording released in 2010 for the label Genuin classics, which he recorded together with the pianist Milana Chernyavska contains works by Beethoven, Bach, Grieg and Waxman was enthusiastically received by the
audience and critics alike.
Since 2011 he takes part in the "Rhapsody in School" Project, which was founded by the pianist Lars Vogt and is devoted to bringing Classical music to a younger audience. He currently plays a 1725 Antonio Stradivari, that was kindly given to him on loan through Machold Rare Violins.
