Biography

The Italian composer and pianist, Ciro Ferrigno graduated in piano, harpsichord, instrumentation and composition from the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella Napoli.  He studied chamber music with Alexander Lonquich and composition with Luciano Chailly.  In 1985 in Naples, Mr. Ferrigno premiered compositions by Copland and Shostakovich.  He collaborated with the conservatives of Naples and Pesaro as Master and harpsichordist, and also with the theaters of Orvieto and Verdi in Salerno. Winner of several composition competitions, including a Unesco competition, he has composed music for documentaries, symphonic and chamber works.  Recently he composed a suite for flute, clarinet and bassoon and string orchestra.  Piano teacher at school.
