Dana Kelley, Viola
Biography
Violist Dana Kelley, a prizewinner in both the 2013 Sphinx Music Competition and the Irving M. Klein International String Competition, is from Syracuse, NY, and began studying music at the age of 3. She received her Bachelor’s of Music from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, studying with Connie Heard and Kathryn Plummer. While at Blair, Dana was a winner of the concerto competition and also received the Jean Keller Heard Prize for musical excellence. Dana has attended festivals such as the Schiermonnikoog International Chamber Music Festival, Kneisel Hall, Aspen Music Festival, the New York String Orchestra Seminar, the Castleman Quartet Program, and Texas Music Festival. Dana is Principal Violist of the Orchestra of Indian Hill and has performed as a member of the Nashville Symphony, the New World Symphony, and the Discovery Ensemble in Boston, MA. In 2014, she completed her Master’s degree at the New England Conservatory as a student of Kim Kashkashian.
