Daniel Orsen, Viola
Biography
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Daniel Orsen is currently studying with Peter Slowik at the Oberlin Conservatory. He won first prize in the Junior Viola Division of the 2013 American String Teachers Association National Solo Competition as well as the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra Concerto Competition, the Pittsburgh Tuesday Musical Club Scholarship Auditions, and the Duquesne Young Artists String Competition. He appeared on NPR’s “From the Top” in 2012. In the summers he has studied at Credo, the Quartet Program, the Perlman Music Program, and the Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute.
