Biography

Edisher Savitski was the first prize winner of The Third Piano-E-Competition in 2006 and the Hilton Head International Piano Competition in 2001, and took top prizes at the First International Piano-E-Competition in Minneapolis and the William S. Byrd International Piano Competition in Michigan.

In 2007 Mr. Savitski joined the Yamaha artist roster, and in November of 2007 Mr. Savitski performed from his home in South Bend, Indiana on a Yamaha Disklavier piano that was connected through internet to another Disklavier piano set on the stage at Yamaha Artist Services International in New York City in an unprecedented first live performance/press conference of this kind. The result was that the audience was able to not only hear and see Mr. Savitski as he spoke, but heard him play as if he was present at the Yamaha Piano Salon.

He has performed in Carnegie Zankel Hall and Carnegie Weill Hall, New York; Wigmore hall, London; Great Hall of Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria; Mariinsky Theater, St. Petersburg, Russia; as well as in other venues in USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Russia, United Kingdom, Israel, Austria, Japan and New Zealand. Edisher Savitski has appeared in major music festivals such as Salzburg Festival, Austria; Gilmore Keyboard Festival; Ravinia Festival; Ruhr Festival, Germany; Ravenna Festival, Italy; Stresa Festival, Italy, and Maggio Musicale Festival in Florence, MITO Festival, Italy. He has been part of the Toradze Studio in most of the marathon projects and performed in numerous occasions in New York, Rome, Florence, Chicago, Palermo, Bologna, London, Lisbon, Strasbourg, Bochum and New Jersey.

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia Edisher Savitski studied in central music school with Maya Beridze and later in the Tbilisi Conservatory with professor Nana Khubutia. During this time he became a prizewinner of the international charity program “New Names”, Russia, and won competition for collaborative pianists arranged at the Tbilisi State Conservatory. He also received a special grant from the president of Georgia.

In 1998 Mr. Savitski joined the world renowned Toradze Piano Studio at Indiana University South Bend. His collaboration with Alexander Toradze led to successes in the field of International Piano Competitions as well as in appearances in major concert venues in the world. Mr. Savitski has also been awarded with a ”Performers Certificate” from the Indiana University South Bend, where currently he serves as faculty.

In 1999 Mr. Savitski was accepted to The Music Academy Of The West in Santa Barbara, California, and in 2001 he was one of six pianists who got invited in the prestigious Steans Institute at the Ravinia Festival.

Mr. Savitski’s performances have been broadcasted on live TV and radio in throughout Europe and USA, including NPR’s “Performance Today”.
In 2007 Savitski's new CD was released on Schubert Club's Ten Thousand Lakes label.

Edisher Savitski has also performed with Minnesota orchestra; Pacific Symphony in Orange County, California; with Kirov Oerchestra at Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg, Russia,  in Grande Auditorio at Temporada Gulbenkian de Musica in Lisbon, Portugal; Stadt-Casino Musiksaal in Basel, Switzerland; with the Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra in Casablanca and Rabat, Morocco; and in Salle Cortot in Paris, France. He recently performed at Dame Myra Hess series in Chicago; Teatro la Fenice, Venice; and at the MITO festival in Turin, Italy, under patronage of the president of Italy.
