Biography
Pianist Elisa Järvi is a native of Finland. She studied in the Sibelius Academy's Pre-College Division and later in their Department for Performing Arts. She also studied at the Guildhall School of Music in London and at the Hochschule für Musik Köln as a German Academic Exchange Service scholar.
Ms. Järvi earned her Master's degree from the Sibelius Academy in 2003 and completed her Konzertexamen one year later in Köhn. Her primary teachers have been Dr. Margit Rahkonen and Prof. Karin Merle and she has also participated in many masterclasses with noted teachers such as Konstantin Bogino and Malcolm Bilson.
Ms. Järvi has performed and recorded much contemporary music, but also performs earlier works including fortepiano repertoire. Her ensemble engagements have taken her around Europe, to Japan and the United States.
In 2003 she was the winner of the Forum Pianistico Città di Chioggia Concerto Competition. Currently she is pursuing her doctoral degree at the Sibelius Academy where she also works as an assistant in the Piano Department.
