Fabiola Kim, Violin
Biography
After beginning her musical studies at the age of 4, Fabiola Kim made her solo debut with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra just three years later. Her honors include winning the Juilliard Concerto Competition, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra’s Concerto Competition (as the youngest winner in its history), and Aspen Music Festival Violin Concerto Competition, and she was a prizewinner of the Corpus Christi International Competition and the Irving M. Klein International Competition for Strings. She has recently performed under the batons of Nicholas McGegan and Jane Glover. Other past engagements include performances with the Juilliard Orchestra under Alan Gilbert; Seoul and Suwon Philharmonics; Kangnam, Korean, and Prime Symphony Orchestras; Köln Chamber Orchestra; North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra; the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen; Orquestra Sinfonica OSUANL; and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV. Fabiola has received critical acclaim from the New York Times and Philadelphia Inquirer, among others, and has been featured on NPR and WQXR. She has performed as concertmaster with the Juilliard Orchestra and New York String Orchestra Seminar.
