Biography
Winner of the 2007 Monte Carlo Violin Masters, Fanny Clamagirand is gaining widespread attention for her radiant technical skills and musical mastery. Acclaimed as the ADAMI Classical Revelation 2006, Fanny has been distinguished in many other international competitions, winning 1st Prize at the Kreisler Competition in Vienna in 2005, the prestigious Emily Anderson Prize from the Royal Philharmonic Society in London in 2004, Special prize at the Yehudi Menuhin Competition in 2000, 1st Prize at the Spohr Competition in 1995 where she also received a special prize from Radio Frankfurt.
Ms. Clamagirand is regularly invited to prestigious international series and festivals such as Wigmore and Royal Festival Halls in London, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Opera House in Tel Aviv, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro in Brasilia, Festival International de Colmar, Festival Radio France Montpellier, Israel Festival, Haydn Festspiele, and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. She has performed as a soloist with the Wiener Symphoniker, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Montecarlo, Teatro La Fenice Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Wiener Kammerorchester, and the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris.
Born in Paris in 1984, Fanny joined the postgraduate course at the National Conservatoire of Paris when she was sixteen. She went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London where she was awarded her Artist Diploma.
Her first CD recording dedicated to the complete violin solo sonatasbyEugene Ysaÿe was released in 2007 under the Nascor label. In 2009 she will record for the Naxos label the complete Saint-Saëns violin concertos with the Sinfonia Finlandia conducted by Patrick Gallois.
