Biography
Pianist Hye-Yeon Park has
distinguished herself as one of the outstanding concert artists from Korea. She made her first
public concert at the age of ten with the Seoul Symphony Orchestra.
Since winning First Prize at the Chosun
Competition in 1994, Ms. Park has won most of the major top honors in Korea
including being selected as a Young Artist by the Kumho Foundation and "The
Most Promising Young Artist" by the Korean Ministry of Education. She has also
been a prizewinner at international competitions including Oberlin, Ettlingen,
Maria Canals, Prix Amadeo, and Hugo Kauder.
Hye-Yeon Park
received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Korean National University of
Arts where she was a full scholarship student of Daejin Kim. She went on to
earn her M.M. and A.D. at Yale University, studying with Peter Frankl and then held
the position of Post-Graduate Fellow at the Yale School of Music from
2006-2007. She is currently pursuing a Doctor
of Musical Arts degree at the Peabody Institute under the tutelage of Yong Hi
Moon.
