Janne Tateno began his violin studies at the Helsinki Conservatory. In 1999, he transferred to the Chicago College of Performing Arts to study with Yuko Mori; he graduated with honors in May 2003. As an active chamber musician in Finland, Mr. Tateno has performed with renowned Finnish artists such as violist Ulla Soinne, cellist Erkko Rautio and clarinetist Harri Mäki. Previously, Mr. Tateno played in the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra (Kokkola, Finland). In the fall of 2005, Mr. Tateno appeared at the Schubertiade Tamba in Hyogo, Japan as the "Franz of the Year."
