Ji Yung Lee, Piano
Biography
A native of South Korea, pianist Ji Yung Lee is also a singer and conductor. She is a graduate student at The Juilliard School, where she studies collaborative piano with Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman, and Diane Richardson; and voice with Cynthia Hoffmann. As an active collaborative pianist, she has made appearances with various instrumentalists and singers at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, and Jordan Hall in Boston. Recent highlights include: OperaComp Project premiering excerpts from new operas at The Juilliard School; Boulder International Chamber Music Competition as finalist; rehearsal pianist and chorus member in Smetana’s opera “The Bartered Bride” under the baton of Matthew Aucoin.
She attended the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2014 and the Music Academy of the West in 2016. She was invited to participate in the International Student Lied Duo Competition in the Netherlands this past April.
Ms. Lee pursued her Master’s Degree and Graduate Diploma in Collaborative Piano at New England Conservatory, studying with Cameron Stowe and Jonathan Feldman, and her Bachelor's degree in Korea majoring in choral conducting. She loves sharing music and teaching children how music delivers love and hope, reaching out to people all over the world such as New York, Bangkok, Mozambique and Palestine.
