Jonathan Korth, Piano
Biography
Pianist Jonathan Korth, a native of Iowa, has performed recitals across North America, Europe, and East Asia to critical acclaim. Since making his 2002 Carnegie Hall debut at the Weill Recital Hall, Mr. Korth has become an advocate for classical music, performing and lecturing frequently. More recent concert activity includes tours of China, Taiwan, Korea, and Europe in addition to appearances at Washington DC’s Phillips Collection, the Jefferson Library in Monticello, Piano Salon at Yamaha Artist Services, and a return appearance at Weill Hall in New York. He also frequently performs in and around his home of Honolulu and as well as on Hawai'i, Lana'i, and Maui. His chamber music collaborations include with Martin Beaver (Tokyo String Quartet), cellists Alan Stepansky and David Requiro, and soprano Hyunah Yu. A graduate of the Peabody Conservatory and Stony Brook University, he studied piano with Ann Schein, Boris Slutsky, and Gilbert Kalish and chamber music with members of the Emerson and Juilliard String Quartets.
