Mezzo-soprano Kathryn Leemhuis just completed her second year with the Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago, performing in Verdi’s Ernani and Janáček’s Kát'a Kabanová this past season. More recently she appeared at Chicago Opera Theater, the Grant Park Music Festival and Ravinia in Candide. She has won top prizes in the American Opera Society of Chicago Competition, the Union Civic and Arts Foundation Competition, the Musicians Club of Women Competition, the Irma Cooper Opera Columbus International Vocal Competition and the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Competition.
