Lindsay Deutsch, Violin
Biography
Lindsay Deutsch, age 19, of Los Angeles has been performing as soloist since the age of six. A
sophomore in college, she currently attends the Colburn School of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles where she has studied with Robert
Lipsett since 1999. Previous teachers include Henry Rubin of Houston, Texas.
Ms. Deutsch has made many solo appearances with orchestras in California, Texas, and Canada, including the New West Symphony, Los Angeles
Jewish Symphony, National Academy Orchestra in Toronto, Culver City Chamber Orchestra, Palm Springs Symphony, Clear Lake Symphony,
Capistrano Valley Symphony, and Westchester-Marina-Culver City Orchestra. This past August, Lindsay made her solo debut at the Walt
Disney Concert Hall with the California Philharmonic. For the 2004-05 season, she gives several recitals in California and Texas, performs
with the Oakville Philharmonic in Canada, appears with the LA Jewish Symphony at the Nimoy Concert Series and will appear on Live
From WFMT with Kerry Frumkin for a recital and interview.
In addition to her music, Ms. Deutsch was a formidable racquetball player. She won the gold medal in the World Junior Olympic Racquetball Championships in
1997 and was selected to the 2000 U.S. Jr. Olympic Racquetball Team.
Lindsay plays on a 1742 Sanctus Seraphin generously on loan from the Mandell Collection of Southern California.
