After returning to Canada to study with Paul Marleyn at the University of Ottawa, he won the Concerto Competition not only in 2005 but also in 2006, earning him the opportunity to play the Elgar Cello Concerto in E minor and Shostakovich Cello Concerto in E-flat major with the University of Ottawa Orchestra. He was also selected to attend the New York String Seminar of 2004 and 2005, where he played in Carnegie Hall under the direction of Jaime Laredo and received chamber music coachings from members of the Emerson Quartet, Isidore Cohen, Michael Tree and Sharon Robinson. In the summer of 2005, Loewi attended the Beethoven Institute at Mannes College where he worked with Jacob Lateiner, Colin Carr, and Timothy Eddy. That same summer he also attended the Audubon String Quartet Seminar.
