The Lyric Arts Trio is a fresh and innovative chamber ensemble comprising clarinet, soprano voice and piano that has been delighting audiences throughout the Midwest for 20 years. The Trio combines the best of vocal and instrumental worlds, and concerts are enlivened by informative (and even amusing) commentary from the musicians.
The ensemble (Elena Lence Talley, clarinet; Sarah Tannehill, soprano; Dan Velicer, piano) presents concerts of solos, duos and trios, with programs constructed around a central theme. A member of the Kansas Arts Commission and Mid-America Arts Alliance Touring programs, sample touring programs include: "A Shakespeare Festival," "Hearts and Flowers," "Great Poets," and "American Voices," a new program for next season. The Lyric Arts Trio has a wide and varied repertoire, ranging from Mozart to exclusive commissions, and will premiere two new works in 2010.
"The unique artistry your ensemble displayed showed a perfect blend of musical poetry and lyrics."
-- Black Hills Chamber Music Society
"We look forward to having you in our venue again one day. We would highly recommend your group to anyone that inquires."
-- C.L. Hoover Opera House
The Lyric Arts Trio also offers masterclasses in clarinet, voice and piano to advanced students.
