Maren Rothfritz, Viola
Biography
Born in Paderborn, Germany, Ms. Rothfritz began her violin studies at the age of four, and at sixteen, she entered into the violin class of Professor Ulrike Anime Mathé in Detmold, Germany. A year later, she also joined the viola class of Professor Diemut Poppen. In September 2011, Maren was accepted to the "Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia" in Madrid. There she was awarded the prize for the most outstanding string quartet during the 20112012 academic year and for the most outstanding piano quartet during the 20122013 academic year.
After obtaining her Bachelors degree in 2013 Ms. Rothfritz studied one year with Nobuko Imai at the "Conservatory of Amsterdam". Currently she is enrolled in a Master’s degree program with Kim Kashkashian at the "New England Conservatory", expected to graduate in May 2016.
Ms. Rothfritz has participated in numerous masterclasses, including with Kim Kashkashian, Atar Arad, Thomas Riebl, Ferenc Rados, Menahem Pressler and Nobuko Imai.
