Maria Ioudenitch, Violin
Biography
Maria Ioudenitch was born in Balashov, Russia. She began studying violin at age 3 with Gregory Sandomirsky and studied with Ben Sayevich at the International Center for Music at Park University in Parkville, Missouri from 2005-2014. She is currently continuing her studies at the Curtis Institute of Music with Shmuel Ashkenasi and Pamela Frank. Ms. Ioudenitch has participated in various master classes with such eminent musicians as Midori, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Ana Chumachenco, Zakhar Bron, Pinchas Zukerman, Gil Shaham, Eric Rosenblith, Natalia Prischepenko, and Miriam Fried.
She has participated in various summer festivals and academies such as the Ravinia Festival's Steans Music Institute, the International Summer Academy at Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, and the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. In 2012, Ms. Ioudenitch won first prize at the Young Artists Competition hosted by the Kansas City Symphony and performed with the Symphony and Maestro Michael Stern. She took Second Prize at the 2012 Johansen International Competition (JIC) for Young String Players in Washington, DC.
Her recent engagements include performances with the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, the Signature Symphony at TCC, the National Orchestra of Uzbekistan, and the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. She was recently appointed Concertmaster of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra for 2016-2017.
