Biography
James McKeever is Professor of Piano at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he was a student of the noted Russian pedagogue Olga Conus. He has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician and has presented numerous workshops on piano technique and performance. He has published articles in CLAVIER magazine, and is the editor of Fundamentals of Piano Techniques: The Conus Exercises, Explained and Illustrated. Susan McKeever is an Associate Lecturer at UW-Parkside. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Redlands (student of Alexandra Pierce) and received the Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she was a student of Olga Conus and Richard Morris. She also did graduate work at the University of Southern California and was a student of Daniel Pollack. She has earned professional achievement certification through the Music Teachers National Association, and performs frequently as an accompanist and chamber musician. The McKeever Duo has performed extensively throughout the Midwest and South. Their repertoire includes works for two pianos as well as one piano, four hands.
