Based in Austin, Texas, her many collaborations include the Austin Chamber Music Center, Audio Inversions, and Austin Lyric Opera, and performances with members of the Austin Symphony and Grammy-nominated choral group Conspirare. Ms. Birdsong has traveled with soloists and choirs to several U.S. states as well as Toronto, Canada and Nassau, Bahamas. She has been a pianist for the Viola by Choice concert series (with artistic director Aurèlien Petillot) since its 2006-2007 inaugural season and can be heard on the CD Florilegium; she has also been a frequent collaborator with PKW Productions (founder and director P. Kellach Waddle). Recent years have revealed a flair for contemporary music; her premieres have included several works by P. Kellach Waddle (Pulitzer Prize-nominated composer), Donald Grantham (Professor of Composition at the Butler School of Music), and Peter Stopschinski and Graham Reynolds (composer/pianists and co-founders of the Golden Hornet Project). Ms. Birdsong holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Louisiana State University, where she studied with Constance Carroll and Michael Gurt, and a Master of Music degree from The University of Texas at Austin, where she studied with Danielle Martin and was the recipient of a graduate teaching assistantship.
