Biography
Hailed by the late great Russian pianist Vladimir Krainev as an "extremely talented young pianist with unbelievable technique," PengCheng He has appeared as both soloist and chamber musician throughout Asia, Europe and the United States. He was the first prize winner of the 9th Taipei International Chopin Competition, and a participant in the 16th editions of the Warsaw Chopin International Competition, where he advanced to the second round. He also won the first prize of American Protégé. As a result of these competition successes, He gave a concert tour of Taiwan, and concerts in Warsaw. He has also given concerts in mainland China and the United States, and made his Carnegie Hall debut with a recital in Weill Hall in 2010. He plays concerts with leading orchestra in China. Besides that, he has working with many renowned musician includes Piotr Paleczny, Stephen Hough, Robert McDonald and shortly studied with Edward Auer privately. He holds performance diploma at Oberlin Conservatory with Peter Takacs and Bachelor of Music from Manhattan School of Music with Marc Silverman. He also holds the
Helen Cohn Award from Manhattan School of Music for his outstanding work in chamber music. In 2015, He has been admitted by American icon Leon Fleisher with Full assistantship from Peabody Institute.
