Biography
Rhiannon Banerdt made her solo debut at age 14 with the New England Youth Ensemble in South Africa and has given solo and chamber music performances at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and Boston’s Jordan Hall, where she performed with the Borromeo String Quartet as recipient of their guest artist award. She has attended festivals at Kneisel Hall, Taos, and the Castleman Quartet Program. Rhiannon is active in New England and her native Los Angeles as a music educator, offering interactive programs for young audiences in schools and community venues incorporating story and song and is a member of Discovery Ensemble, a chamber orchestra presenting programs in underserved communities in the Boston area. This fall, Rhiannon joins Community MusicWorks in Providence, Rhode Island, as a Violin Fellow. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from New England Conservatory, where she studied with Lucy Chapman and Paul Biss.
