Biography
An artist diploma candidate at Peabody Conservatory, Brazilian pianist Ronaldo Rolim has performed extensively in the Americas and Europe. Winner of more than 30 awards in competitions worldwide, his latest achievements include top prizes at the San Marino and Bösendorfer International Piano Competitions. He has been a guest soloist of several Brazilian orchestras, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Phoenix Symphony. A passionate chamber musician, Ronaldo is a founding member of Trio Appassionata. Born in 1986, Ronaldo first took piano lessons at age four with his mother. In 1998 he was admitted into the Magda Tagliaferro School of São Paulo, having studied with professors Zilda Candida dos Santos and Armando Fava Filho. In 2005, he moved to the U.S. to study with Flavio Varani at Oakland University in Michigan and later at Peabody, where he completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees as a student of Benjamin Pasternack.
