Biography
Soprano Sarah-Jane Brandon currently studies at London’s Royal College of Music International Opera School. In addition to performances there and in her native South Africa, she has appeared with the London Handel Festival, Gabrieli Consort, Mark Morris Dance Group, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Amadeus Orchestra and the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge. Winner of the 2009 Kathleen Ferrier Competition and the Maggie Teyte Prize, she also holds awards from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust and the Royal Over-Seas League.

Winner of the 2009 Kathleen Ferrier Competition, soprano Sarah-Jane Brandon studied at the Royal College of Music and was a participant in the 2011 Salzburg Festival's Young Singers Project.
Her recent engagements have included Mozart's Requiem with the CBSO and Andris Nelsons; Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream with the LSO and Bernard Haitink; Mahler’s Symphony no. 4 with the RLPO and Vasily Petrenko and Crobyle Thaïs at the Edinburgh Festival with the RSNO and Sir Andrew Davis.
Her concert engagements this season and beyond include Haydn's Nelson Mass with the LPO and Yannick Nézet-Séguin; Berg's Sieben frühe Lieder with the CBSO and Edward Gardner; Mahler’s Symphony no. 4 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Sylvain Cambreling and Mozart arias at the Wigmore Hall with Ian Page and the Classical Opera Company - of which she is an Associate Artist.
On the opera stage she will sing Contessa Le nozze di Figaro for Glyndebourne on Tour and Micäela Carmen for the Deutsche Oper, Berlin.
Her recital appearances include the Musée d'Orsay and Birmingham's Barber Institute with Simon Lepper, the Wigmore Hall and the Buxton and Oxford Lieder Festivals with Gary Matthewman, the Meads Music Festival with James Baillieu and Trinity College Cambridge and the Leeds Lieder Festival with Malcolm Martineau.
She studies with Janis Kelly.
