Biography

Tatiana Mikova is an eclectic, multi-award-winning Czech classical and film music composer based in London. She has composed concert works for symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles, and solo instruments, as well as numerous film music scores. Gaining international acclaim for her "Spanish Serenade" and "Fantasia on Moravian Themes" (performed by the renowned Czech Nonet), Mikova's music has been featured on Performance Today (American Public Media), Classical California KUSC/Los Angeles, KDFC/San Francisco, and other stations worldwide.

After winning a Gold Medal at the Global Music Awards (USA) in 2019 for both nonets, her orchestral "Sinfonietta for Orchestra" won 2nd prize at the IV. Best European Composer competition in Austria. In 2021, the Lehner String Quartet premiered her String Quartet "In Modo Lidico" in New York.

Mikova's film scores have received over 30 international awards and nominations, including Los Angeles Film Awards/Best Score, New York Film Awards/Best Score, Toronto Film Magazine Fest/Best Composer, Oniros Film Awards in New York/Best Score, Masters of Cinema in Italy, Rome International Movie Awards, EdiPlay International Film Festival in France and Singapore, and Horror Film Awards in New York/Best Music, to name a few. Her film music has been performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and recorded in the iconic Smecky Music Studios.

Mikova holds a Master’s degree in Music Composition for Film and Television from the London College of Music/University of West London. She studied instrumental composition at Oxford University/OUDCE, classical music composition and instrumentation under Professor Milan Jíra (The Prague Conservatory), and received a scholarship for a Film Scoring Workshop with Hollywood composer Christopher Young.
