Biography
Born in Tainan, Taiwan, Ying-Chien Lin has performed solo and chamber music concerts throughout the world including the United States, Russia, Europe, Japan and Taiwan. As a competition winner, Ms. Lin has appeared as soloist with The New Amsterdam, The Stony Brook and The Taipei City Symphony orchestra. As an active chamber musician, she has performed at The Kennedy Center, Phillips Collection in Washington DC; Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, The 92nd Street Y, Alice Tully Hall, Steinway Hall in New York City and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. She received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance from SUNY at Stony Brook and also the prestigious Artist Diploma in collaborative piano from The Juilliard School in May 2004. Her principal teachers include Gilbert Kalish, Jacob Lateiner, Jonathan Feldman and Rolf-Peter Wille. She has performed in master classes by Mstislav Rostropovich, Leon Fleisher, Richard Goode, Robert Mann, Lynn Harrell, and Kim Kashkashian. Currently, she is the staff accompanist at The Juilliard School and The North Carolina School of the Arts.
