Yury Revich, Violin
Biography
Yury Revich is one of the most expressive Russian violinists of his generation. His performances include prestigious venues in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and the United States including Carnegie Hall, Musikverein Vienna, Zurich Tonhalle, and the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. Performances at international music festivals include the Verbier Festival, the Gstaad Festival, and Vladimir Spivakov’s Festival in Colmar, France, among many others.
He tours with a number of orchestras including the Nord-West Deutsche Philarmonie, the Svetlanov Russian State Symphony, the Zagreb Soloists, and the Russian National Orchestra. In 2012 he released his debut album "Russian Soul", and a 2013 release by Sony Classical will feature him in a Romberg concerto and violin sonata repertoire.
Mr. Revich has won several international violin and chamber music competitions, and holds a scholarship from the Rostropovich Foundation. He is a holder of the "Christmas Star" National Prize of the Russian Patriarch, and the “Bernsteingeige” Young Musician Award of the Beethoven Center Vienna.
In 2008, the French master Alan Karbonar crafted a violin especially for Mr. Revich, who has also received support from the Stradivari Society, He has performed on violins by Guarneri del Gesu “Ex-Max Rostal” and the Stradivari “Duke Alba". He has performed on the legendary Guarneri "the King", and proudly plays on a Balestrieri 1783 given to him by Goh Family Foundation of Singapore.
