Zhanbo Zheng, Viola
Biography
Zhanbo Zheng was born in China in 1997. He started learning the viola with Professor Shaowu Wang from 2008 until now. As the youngest participant, Zhanbo won the 14th Primrose International Viola Competition in 2014 and became the first Chinese people who got the prize. Zhanbo was recommended for admission of the Middle School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music without examination in 2010. The same year, he took the first place in the junior group of XII ‘VILLA DE LLANES’ International Viola and Cello Competition in Spain. Zhanbo gave recitals for many times and had performance experiences with orchestras, such as Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, China Broadcasting Performing Arts Orchestra, EOS Repertoire Orchestra, ‘Four Season’ Chamber Orchestra attached to Central Conservatory of Music Youth Symphony Orchestra, etc. He participated in ‘My Concert Hall— The Classical Music Appreciation’ recording program which was proposed by Li Lanqing, the Former Premier of the State Council of China and performed as a soloist in the First Concerto Music Festival in CCOM. He is also interested in music festivals and masterclasses. He participated in the Verbier Festival Academy, Morningside Music Bridge, Bowdoin International Music Festival, etc.
