Texts of FIRST THREE SONGS in Cycle : All Texts By The Composer :
1. Where Have All My Angels Gone?
Once I was God in my Heaven, Flocks in white surrounding me. But now I hark in the dark of night, At The Twilight haunting me. Live alone I must now, how to return I know not how to my life where tomorrow never came. The hope and light have let me be, and now the shackles of hate and fate are forever binding me !! My Youth is melting like the April snow Now only green shows on life's bleak lawn So now I plead with the unanswering rain, Where have all my angels gone?
2. The Airport
They've Both Left From Gate 4 Never to return Never no More Two Black Planes have departed with my Faith and Hope as their passengers The pilot he laughed, with eerie glee.. I told you that youth was not in infinite supply so I stare at the gloomy runway Hang my head And cry. I want to hide my pain unseen But then someone asks, “Wasn't that your pride on the three-thirteen?” “Yes,” I reply, with panged regret. But no I beg, it can't happen yet!! While the engine starts, inside the cockpit skeletons creak and clack As sobbingly I beg him to turn back! But it’s gone, and I’ve lost my chance As I lonely watch, The searchlights dance.
