Jeffrey Dean Hampton, Piano
Biography
Jeffrey Dean Hampton's love for music began with his first piano
lessons at the age of eight in Evansville, Indiana, where he has
studied for several years. He has achieved the top scores at the
Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) competition, advancing
to the State Level numerous times.
When Mr. Hampton was eighteen, he was the
district winner in the Federation Competition. However, he turned down
the opportunity to advance to the next level of the competition in
order to participate in the Schmidt Awards Competition, in which he
received Honorable Mention. He has studied piano both at home and at
the Chicago College of the Performing Arts.
As
an artist, Jeffrey is versed in all musical styles, from the great
classical masters to the latest pop hits and everything in between. He
is a champion of the Early Romantic works from composers such as
Brahms, Schumann and Chopin. His peers and audiences have characterized
his playing as bringing a youthful energy and enthusiasm to his
performances, as well as displaying a fresh perspective in his musical
expression.
Also
a composer, Jeffrey Hampton has had several of his small chamber pieces
performed. He is also a rock musician, both as a keyboardist and
songwriter. On weekends, he plays piano and keyboards at Crossroads
Christian Church.
Jeffrey is currently composing, teaching and performing in Evansville, Indiana.
