Dinara Nadzhafova, Piano
Biography
Pianist Dinara Nadzhafova was born in Kharkov in 1989, and began music lessons at age five. In 1996 she became a pupil at a special musical boarding school in Kharkov, at the same time winning a scholarship from the President of the Ukraine. In 2001 she proceeded with her studies at the Central Musical School of Russia in the class of Prof. Piassetski, Honored Artist of Russia.
Ms. Nadzhafova has won such competitions as the Usty-on Laba International Competition (First Prize, 1997), Vladimir Krainev International Competition of Young Pianists (First Prize, 1998), III International Competition of Young Pianists "Seiler" (First Prize, 2003), V International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Pianists (Second Prize, 2004), and the XII Eurovision International Competition (Lucerne, 2004). She is a scholar of the Vladimir Krainev Charitable Fund, and Laureate of the VIII Moscow International Festival of young soloists (2002).
She has taken part in many international festivals: "Visiting Aivazovskii" (Feodosia, 1997, 1998, 2000), "Music is Our Home" (Kharkov, 1998, 1999, 2000), "Rachmaninov and Ukrainian Culture" (Kharkov, 1998), Lutzenko Festival (Kharkov, 1997, 1999), "New Names of Young Ukrainian Stars" (Kiev, 1998, 2000), "New Names of the Crimea" (Yalta, 1998), "Vladimir Krainev Invites" (Kiev, 1999, Klin, Moscow, Kiev, 2000), "From Heart to Heart" (Malaysia, 1999), Rheinghau Musical Festival (Germany, 2002), 24th International Festival for Piano "La Roque d'Antheron" (2004), and others.
Ms. Nadzhafova has appeared with such orchestras as the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Kiev State Philharmonic Society, Kharkov Youth Philharmonic Society, and the Kazan Philharmonic Society. She has been the recipient of the Guzik Foundation Awards program since 2005, and has toured under the Foundation's auspices to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Boston, Miami, and Houston.
