Jennifer Bartel, Flute
Biography
Jennifer Bartel received her Bachelor of Music degree from DePaul University and a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music.
Ms. Bartel is the recipient of many awards including: winner of the Union League Civic and Arts Foundation competition, first place winner in the Society of American Musicians Young Artist Competition and winner of the University of Chicago Concerto Competition where she performed Nielsen's Concerto for Flute.
She was a guest artist on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series at the Chicago Cultural Center which was broadcast live on WFMT. She has performed with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Park Ridge Civic Orchestra, and the Kenosha Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Bartel has served as a board member of the Chicago Flute Club as Director and Competition Coordinator. She has been teaching flute students in the Chicago area since 2000 privately as well as serving as faculty at Lake Forest College and the Music Institute of Chicago.
