The name and the formal structure are borrowed from baroque music but
the colour of these two dances is, as Enesco said himself, "pretty much Debussy-ist,
rather Île de France (i.e. the region around Paris)". Despite all
these typical French aspects, the "sweet Romanian landscape" is very present.
In fact, the piece displays a unique synthesis of neo-classical, romantic and
