Biography
First-prize winner of the prestigious Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition, Trio Terzetto is an ensemble of dynamic musical personalities.
Grammy-nominated Andrius Zlabys has placed himself in the forefront of today’s pianists, having performed with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra and Rotterdam Symphony, among others. Critics have praised his “easy virtuosity” (The Strad) and “extraordinary refinement and artistry” (The New York Sun) while others have described his playing as “contemplative and mesmerizing” (Los Angeles Times) and “tasteful, communicative and utterly absorbing”. (New York Times). Trained at the Curtis Institute of Music, Mr. Zlabys performs frequently on leading stages such as Avery Fisher Hall, Concertgebouw, Carnegie Hall, Teatro Colon, Wigmore Hall, Musikverein and Suntory Hall, and on prestigious festivals worldwide that include the Menuhin, Salzburg, and Lockenhaus. He has enjoyed collaborations with such renowned musicians as violist Yuri Bashmet, violinist Hilary Hahn and a long-time collaboration with violinist Gidon Kremer with whom Zlabys has toured extensively in Europe, Japan, South America and the US.
Diana Cohen, violinist and graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, has a multifaceted career as a concertmaster, chamber musician, soloist, and arts administrator. Currently concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic as well as Executive and Artistic Director of ChamberFest Cleveland, she has previously served as concertmaster and soloist with the Richmond Symphony, Charleston Symphony, Kalamazoo Symphony, among others. As soloist, Ms. Cohen has appeared with the Holland Symphony, Rochester Symphony, and the orchestras of Lansing, Valdosta and Hilton Head. She has performed regularly in concerts across the globe with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Sejong Soloists, The Knights, and with the New York Philharmonic and The Cleveland Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Ms. Cohen has performed at Marlboro Music, Ravinia, Aspen, and has regularly collaborated with members of the Guarneri, Juilliard, Miro, Cleveland and Parker Quartets, and with renowned artists including Garrick Ohlsson, Jonathan Biss, and Kim Kashkashian.
Cellist Bronwyn Banerdt has concertized throughout the United States, Europe, Russia, and southern Africa, appearing with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Houston Symphony, Albany Symphony, and New West Symphony. Ms. Banerdt was awarded Grand Prize at the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Bronislaw Kaper Awards. She has performed at numerous chamber music festivals including Marlboro Music and Music from Angel Fire and plays regularly with the Jupiter Chamber Players in New York City. She frequently collaborates with renowned artists such as Mitsuko Uchida, Kim Kashkashian, and members of the Emerson, Guarneri, Juilliard, Borodin, and Orion string quartets. Ms. Banerdt is a frequent substitute with the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Pittsburgh Symphony. Ms. Banerdt earned her Bachelor’s Degree at age 19 from the University of Southern California and received subsequent degrees from The Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School.
