Young Kyung Hyun, Piano
Biography
Young Kyung Hyun is an active collaborative pianist who has performed throughout the United States, Australia, Italy, Korea, and Japan. She has partnered with artists such as Stephan Picard, Andreas Kresher, and Young-Hoon Song. In 2006, she won the prestigious Artur Balsam Duo Competition with violinist Emily Popham, and was presented in concert in Greenfield Hall at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
Ms. Hyun has been staff accompanist at the Quartet Program in Fredonia, New York, the Great Mountain Music Festival and School in Korea, Castello di Cennina Music Festival in Italy, the Euro Music Festival, and the Eumyoun Music Camp in Korea.
Ms. Hyun began playing the piano at the age of three and grew to be the first student to major in accompanying as a full scholarship recipient at the Korean National University of Arts. She earned her Master's Degree in accompanying with Heasook Rhee at the Manhattan School of Music where she is currently in the Professional Studies program.
