Tango "Por Una Cabeza" Carlos Gardel, arranged by Matthew Naughtin
The Tango “Por Una Cabeza”, is one the most famous and popular tango songs by Carlos Gardel and was written with his friend, the Brazilian lyricist, Alfredo LePera in 1935, the same year they both died in a plane crash. Symbolizing the parallels between the struggles of everyday life to that of a horse race, in which one may lose everything by just a horse’s head, this tango was made famous in several Hollywood movies such as Scent of a Woman and True Lies. Matthew Naughtin’s arrangement for string quartet of this popular tango is invigorating yet refreshing and seductive. The Euclid String Quartet
